For extension officers and NGO programmes

Advice that stays with the farmer between your visits

You cannot visit every farm every week. AsaaseYaa reminds each farmer what to do and how, the days you are not there, using crop guides for Ghana.

What farmers get

Your advice, repeated

Planting dates, spacing, feeding at each stage and pest checks, the same messages you give, in Twi or English with pictures.

Leaf and soil checks

Farmers tap the picture that looks like their leaf or soil and get what it probably is and what to do. Serious problems point them to you.

Free guides to share

Crop guides, a pest library, a planting calendar and calculators for fertiliser, plants and profit, all free on this website.

Printed flyers

A one-page flyer with a QR code to the app, in English and Twi, to hand out at meetings.

How we start

  1. 1. Try it yourselfInstall the app and set up a farm you know. It takes two minutes.
  2. 2. Show it at a meetingUse the flyer and set up a few farmers on their own phones. We can join you.
  3. 3. Tell us what is wrongIf a date, an amount or a word is wrong for your area, tell us. Our agronomist checks it and we fix it for everyone.

What we ask of you

  • Your knowledge of the area
  • Feedback on the advice
  • A chance to meet farmers
Does the app replace extension officers?

No. It repeats good practice between visits and sends serious problems to an expert. Farmers still need you.

Where does the advice come from?

From crop guides for Ghana, with notes from a practising agronomist. Each crop guide on this site shows it.

Can an NGO programme use it?

Yes, for free. Talk to us about set-up days, materials and group totals for your reporting.

Also for: cooperatives and farmer groups · buyers and aggregators · input sellers and equipment owners · all partners
